I am very excited and ready to binge watch the new Luke Cage series on Netflix like many others. Although I'm looking forward to it, part of me still wants to see him wear the yellow jacket and boots along with the silver bracelets and head piece. That's only because this is the Power Man that I remember. I realize that it is selfish of me to resist the evolution of the character but these were dreams I had as a kid. I remember reading the first comics and imagining him in a live action movie. Back then, we had some very terrible attempts by the film industry to bring our heroes to the big and small screen. Does anyone remember the live action Spider-Man and Captain America movies. Ok, I admit that I still loved them but why did Captain America wear a motorcycle helmet. Maybe to teach us kids about proper safety attire but that still doesn't explain the dorky wings on the sides.
Sorry for getting off track but let's get back to Luke Cage. I've seen Jessica Jones which introduced Luke and I love the character. I think he is very well done, well acted, appropriate outfits, the whole nine yards. Maybe I'm asking too much but can they at least throw in the whole 70's SHAFT attitude and lingo?
